SNOW

Image result for langdales in snow

We have just come back from a long weekend in West Cumbria not quite the Lake District but lovely and beautiful anyway at this time of year.
We stayed in a luxury barn conversion for three nights: the first time I have been away since we went to the South of France in early June. It’s about 2 hours from here, a fabulous drive across the Pennines and then across the moors.
What a difference the snow makes to the scenery. The hills and mountains are still extraordinary of course on a crisp January day but add 3cm of snow and you get magic. We drove across to Kendal on Saturday morning and as we came over the rise of the A66, this is what we saw: the Langdales in all their majesty.
