VALPARAISO

Always wanted to visit Valparaiso. I think it must have been all those sea-shanties I heard in the folk clubs about rounding the Horn. Also, the fact that it was almost as far as you could travel from Newcastle.

My friend Susan went there last year. She liked it but said that the effects of the massive 2010 earthquake were still impacting strongly not only on Valparaiso but on the whole of that coastal region. She took this picture which she entered into a major competition two weeks ago and won first prize.
