KEILDER WATER
We all went to Keilder yesterday, Boxing Day and walked to the Wave Chamber. This is a photograph of one of the pumping towers in the mist.
When we were rich, we owned a second home here, a former railwaymans cottage, right by the old tracks of the Alston-Newcastle line. So we know Keilder well. That is where Kiri meets Chris in RICCARTON JUNCTION, outside the shop in Keilder Village; reversing her father’s Land Cruiser. I had wanted an image of this exotic, beautiful, slip of a girl driving this tank of a car which would say, ‘she can cope with whatever the world throws at her’.
